Chicken gizzards and livers

Organ meats are very nutritious. I enjoy the gizzards very much but eat the livers more for health benefits. Although technically a muscle, hearts are very good too. Feet make the best stock, BTW.
I have customers ask for feet a lot.

Only place I could get some chicken feet is at our nearest DIMSUM Chinese place
And since I am with the family that choice is probably out

The Texas Drive In, in Victoria used to have a killer gizzard/liver combo basket. I don't know if they're still open.

I try to get some gizzards, from the Grab-n-go, in Hallettsville, every time I'm there.

So, yes, I like both!

Both for me, never thought anything about it, love each. Each has great flavor profiles. I also enjoy smoking both on the pit as appetizers. Simply lay down a little foil with butter and hit it with salt and pepper. Doesn't take long. I also deep fry hearts, all good and best parts of a hen.

I love livers but can't stand gizzards. lots of time when I go to my ranch in Archer county I stop at Chicken Express in Graham and get a box to snack on for a few days, ummmmm good.
