Serious question... What do farm-fresh eggs cost usually? Like at a farmers' market or roadside stand?

We give ours away. I usually bring them to work 3-4 dozen at a time. Once a month they support homemade cupcakes

From a simplistic point of view, you would think that the "free range" yardbird should be cheaper since there is no overhead costs of meds and coop housing. However, they are usually twice as expensive....

The extra costs that are incurred are a factor. Going out on a limb here but I would guess that the markup is not any more than the markup on the cheap eggs.

The real question we should be asking is: why is cheap food so cheap?

hey have that dark yolk you get from farm eggs. Dont live on or near a farm so we pay extra to not eat tastless eggs. Dont mind snubbing farm factory franken chickens either if the certified humane stamp is legit.
