Heading down next Thursday. I’ll report back on here after a survey.

Our landowner says he has seen lots of deer and look healthy. So I’m hoping we weren’t hit hard. Only 1 dead deer found by the LO but was a yearling so not sure if it was anthrax related.

That’s promising news for you guys.

I’m headed up next Saturday to get everything ready for bow season and top off feeders. We’ll see how it goes.

Same here. I wont be able to get out of here until Saturday morning when I get off duty. Need to set up a new stand and check everything out. Still being optimistic that it will be ok. Still beats any day at work though!!!

All but 1 of them scattered showers went around us today. Dern it. Just thought we were going to get some. Place looks rough! When the death count surpasses what you count alive, its not good.

My youngest decided he wanted to try and get his first deer. I guess it was beginner's luck. We have been trying to arrow this guy all summer.. We went to the blind early and right before dark the whole herd came in to the feeder. He was set up with a cross bow on a tripod and after a couple minutes of dancing around he finally presented the new hunter a shot. We have been practicing and all the stars aligned for a short tracking job. The deer ran about 40 yards.
