If you are wanting to try the $139 option, I have found a way to retrieve the factory code without dealer assistance. Just so you could verify that it didn't work and not pay them.
Going to test this operation now.

The video above explains how to retrieve it. Both key fobs in the key fob holder. Is that what you are trying?

I believe you can ADD an additional code but the factory code can’t be deleted or changed unless you buy a new BCM, is the way it has been explained to me by many people who would know a trick if there was one.
