As I sit here in Destin...two straight days of FROG CHOKING RAIN...I receive a call from the Centerville American Legion. About 6 weeks ago, at the Flea Fest in Jewett, I drop $10 in a fish bowl for a chance to win a new Kawasaki 610 4x4 Mule...well guess who got a call saying they had won. Feeling pretty lucky right about now...

Had a few of my military buddies over for grilling and washers and the bat phone rang. Gonna be a long night working on a unit in the ghetto. Saw a guy getting beat down with a baseball bat on the way in. I hate this station, but at least I'm well armed. Company policy be danged. Wish me luck and safety!

It has been a trying week for us but yesterday was a great one. We have seen a lot of friends and relatives all week and yesterday was no exception. Sat around and watched "Ring the Bell" (awesome movie) and ate way too much food, then finished the day off watching fireworks down the street then lighting up ours. Funny part of it, when my SIL and daughter went to buy fireworks they bought out the last of what the stand had while friends of ours were in line behind them. They called a few minutes later and said they were coming over to watch ours since we bought the last of them. They turned out to be about 20 or so, it was a great time watching kiddos with sparklers and firecrackers, then the big boys putting on the aerial show. Slept like a baby last night after a great day.
KHo, I am so happy for y'all on winning the UTV. What an awesome addition it will be for the new place.
Lot of great pics here from yesterday, Casey and Chew and all the rest had as good a day as the rest of us.
God bless this great nation we call America!

Well my yesterday started off good, then about 10am we get a call from a driver that had fallen and hurt his back.......... in Corpus Christi. I jumped a plane and got down there about 12:30 and grabbed a cab.(I never knew a cab ride could cost so much. And they do accept credit cards.) Got to the truck (and for the record, 9225 SPID is Flour Bluff Drive) and locked everything down, then rode the cab to Spohn Christus to find the driver. He was laid up in ER waiting for results, they came back all good so they got him up and walked him around the room and then released him. He said he figured he pinched a nerve when he turned to put his tarp on his truck and that is what dropped him like a rag.
We headed back to the truck and got it ready to roll, he rode the jump seat and I did the driving. His wife met us in Victoria and he dumped me for the comfort of a back seat and pillow in her pickup. I made it back home around 9 last night, glad my driver is going to be okay.
Here's my view for about 300 miles. I did get to see lots of water on the flight down, there were a lot of boats working all the bays.
