Closing duck season with my son, after 11 years of duck hunting progressing from both if us clueless to today addicted, he will be moving to Montana and I don't know when we will do this again. He got a cackler goose on a very slow morning, I'm set up in 65 degrees for the afternoon hunt which turned on with mallard and widgeons late afternoon. I couldn't hit squat, today is a fresh start.

Old people like me, 56 lol, typically find it hard to get a job when laid off twice within 14 months of each other especially in the field of architecture.
This Monday feels a whole lot better as this past Friday, I was hired as a Senior Architect for a great petroleum company out of London, not BP. I get to be in London for 5 months of orientation and training then back to Houston in time for setting up for bow season.
I feel like a minor league baseball player being called up to the majors, lol.
Being a veteran of this field for over 30 years and owning my firm for 20 of those years, I was not suprised about making the short list, but am very cognizant that being the successful candidate out of such a strong group of experience is something special.
Fiance' is very happy as now I'm not the cranky old man that I have been recently . . . no doubt, she'll take scared and apprehensive over cranky any ole day. Funny thing is that her number one pick for our honeymoon destination even prior to this: London.
Yes, I go to church on Sunday and continue to give massive thanks every day of the week and twice on Sunday even before this, lol !
It's clear to me who's driving the bus on this one . . . JC.
Makes the hair on my neck stand up if I think too much about it. Spooky in a good way.
Oh, yeauh almost forgot . . . "here".
. . . and another grandchild, a boy, is on the way and scheduled to arrive this June. Crazee, just crazee I say . . .Last edited by Pablo; 01-30-2012, 09:07 AM.
