    Prayers up Paul. I pray that the surgery goes well.

    I'm getting close to my next cancer checkup. CT scans, hubble telescope where the sun don't shine, and all that. Would like some prayers for clean results. Would be nice to have a year go by without surgery and chemo! 3 years in a row was enough.

    Life is good. About half way through my masters program at Sam Houston. Enjoying my new job as a cold case homicide investigator. Lots of blessings.

        Been thinking about your situation a lot the past 30-60 days...had some recent tummy issues and tried not to feel sorry for myself knowing what you went through.

        I'm a couple years past due for my first roto rooter check up and hope to get the nerve up for the first 'soon'...got no reason to delay with the first class health Ins I have now.

        It stinks being a wimp but your story is sobering...gotta bite the bullet.

        Dad just finished his flushing meds and hit the sack. I'm afraid hurry up and wait is in our future tomorrw but will try to update & hope they let me work from the waiting room tomorrow as I'm behind on some reports due.

        Lucky to have cool & understanding bosses!!

          Which hospital? Down south? Let me know if y'all are in Houston.

              Prayer for you Bobby. I just got out of the hospital myself testing antibiotic cocktails to cure a bronchial infection. They ran 7 bags of antibiotic drip through me with a blood test between each to check white count. We finally found a good one and I'm home on the mend.

                We are in the valley Bobby, but there is a specialist from SA who comes down 2x per month with one of the hospitals down here for this procedure...only reason we stayed here and not in SA or Houston.

                Hurry up and wait...been here since 7AM. Dad is second in line and procedure is around 2-3 hours from what I'm told.

                Man, hospital waiting rooms are both entertaining and irritating Lotsa weird people in here...why do folks bring their entire clan?? Most of the kids are behaving for the most part.

                sigh...

                    I appreciate all the rain we got, but I could do without the mud. I almost un-loaded a forklift from a trailer this morning......over the side!

                      I pray with my 2yr old every night before bed. We always end in asking God to Bless all the TBHers needing prayers. Gonna send a special one up for you guys tonight.

                        Thanks Dan!! (by the way, I have been digg'n your pics you have been posting!!)

                        ~~~~~~~~
                        Dad's procedure went really well & you guys are correct...that robotic deal is really something. Doc said it went super smooth with little to no damage to muscles & nerves. Dad has like 5 holes in his belly now to get the thing removed & was a little uncomfortable with some pain and a constant urge to pee was the only real complaint...sounds like wearing the cath for 10 days is going to be the worst of it 'to me'. Doc mentioned he will probably get to go home today!! I thought for sure it would have been at least 2 nights...good stuff!!
                        Like always, pop was the comic relief after he came to...he usually says something pretty clever & silly at the same time when they finally let you into the recovery. I guess in the past 4-5 years, he has had stints in his leg, both rotator cuff shoulder operations, quad heart bypass, and his thyroid and gall blatter taken out. When the major meds wear off, he will say something about an arm wrestle / 40yd dash challeng to the one of the nurses or something along those lines.
                        THIS was the first time he didn't recall why he was in the hospital. He would fall asleep for like 30-60 seconds, wake up and say: "you mean I really had prostate cancer??"...and then go RIGHT back to sleep for no than a minute & wake up say "why did they take my prostate out??"...then off another nod.
                        I had to go back to his place to get change of clothes & his meds...he soberred up by the time they got him to his regular room and didn't remember saying any of those remarks, but he did complain to my uncle on the phone about the nurses giving him viagra as it 'wouldn't go down.'....he's such a ding-dong.
                        I've never had surgery in all my 40+yrs but suspect I wouldn't be one night stand up guy, making constant jokes
                        Thanks again gang...appreciate all of you!!
                          We've been praying for all you guys every night before we hit the sack, God is Good All the Time!!!
                          Spending the weekend in Lindale with the family meeting the newest addition to the Carnathan Clan, Mikah Anne. She is the first girl of the grandchildren, my parents had 6 grandsons before her, so she is either really going to be tough, or really spoiled. Probably a little of both... Have a Great Weekend Folks!!!
                                Just walked in the door from a short trip to Oklahoma City for a show. I did manage to catch Bart Crow at the Wormy Dog in OKC last night which was a great show. My last two nights I have seen Emory Quinn at the Aardvark and Bart Crow at the Wormy Dog. Now time to saddle up again or lay up for the night...............TBD
