How often does a toddler throw up?

My son is almost 3. He seems to be throwing up a lot and we are getting a little worried. He randomly throws up 1-3 times per week. Sometimes its shortly after a big meal but other times its been a while since he ate. Sometimes he says his stomach hurts but other times it just seems to hit.

How often is normal? Do other kids ralph this much?

Seems off to me. I've never heard of a kid doing that as frequent as that without something being wrong. I'm sure someone that knows WAAAAYYY more than I do (which isn't saying alot) will chime in and give some better input. However, if it were me, I'd be taking my kid to the Dr. about this. Even if it's nothing, a little peace of mind goes a long way. If it turns out to be something serious that you could have stopped if you caught early, it's going to be tough to love with if you didn't take the cautious steps to have it fixed when your son starts to suffer from something that progressed due to lack of action on his parents' part.

We have taken him. The dr didn't seem too worried. We have an anti acid reflux med to give before meals but it hasn't seemed to help.

I’ve got a 6 yr old and 3 yr old, only times they have ever thrown up was when they had the stomach bug. I would take your kiddo to a pediatrician

My daughter did 2-3 times per week. Finally figured out that she had a gluten allergy. We cut all gluten from her diet and she stopped throwing up.

Not normal. I would bet on being a dietary allergy, like gluten or dairy. Our oldest had that issue when she was a baby, had to put her on that crazy expensive Alimentum formula. She’s 5 now and not allergic to anything to my knowledge.

Mine was lactose intolerant and that caused him to throw up three to four times a week. Doctor never even thought of that. The wife and I did or own detective work and eventually guessed at what it was. He is 23 today. Get you good Dr. and follow all the clues.

My little girl is almost 3, the only times she has thrown up has been when she is sick. I would definitely be going to the dr. and try to figure out what's going on, it's not normal.

Agree with everyone else. Find a different doctor. My youngest is 5 and has thrown up maybe 5 times in the last 4 years.

My son is two and he might have thrown up 10 times in his life.

I'd bet that he has an allergy of some sort.

My new granddaughter (now 4mo old) is nursing and kept throwing up. Not spitting up, but projectile vomiting. Pediatrician did a bunch of testing and sure enough she was allergic to both Soy and Dairy which she was getting through her mother's milk. My daughter had to change HER diet and within a couple of days, the vomiting went from daily to not at all.

Both mine had what they called a "mild irritant to lactose" that caused it...
Around 5-6 it went away, but prior to that, both threw up about 3-4 times a week...
