I have a few questions for hog trappers who have been doing it a while and know the do's and do not's of trapping.
We are planning to build a pen style figure 6 hog trap using the 16' panels. The area we plan to trap is very sandy with lots of trees...in the Seguin area.
1. What is the best size to build? We want one as big as possible without complicating things too much. It may be 2 weeks before we can check it.
2. Can we attach the panels to trees or do you think the roots would get in the way and help them to dig out?
3. How long can you leave hogs in a trap like that with no water in say 70-80 degree high temps...with them in the shade?
4. I have seen the design but what exactly do I ask for when buying these panels and where are good places to buy them?
Thanks. Feel free to provide other usefull info.
We shot one pig last weekend. It's a long drive and want to make it worth our time by bringing home more meat...which is why we want the trap.
