They are that bad!!! I've tried to eat them at least 10 different ways and can't find a good way to prepare them. Fun to shoot cause they are the stupidist ducks and decoy very easily!!!

I have had blue bill/ringneck many times, and never had trouble cleaning them cooking them or eating them, while they are a diving duck, if cooked properly they all taste good

I was looking at #7, which I believe is a bluebill. As long as it's not a canvasback, shoot it.

Ok....I think that was somebody's example of what a bluebill looked like...

Be careful on the scaup, lesser or greater. The Texas bag limit on them is 2 per day in your total bag limit of 5 ducks. I do have a friend who visits us every year at the lease that can cook them dudes mouthwatering good. I didn't believe it until I tried it. We shot a totally mixed bag on the river one day that had bluebills, buffleheads, gadwalls, etc. The only "good" duck we had was one green wing teal... Well Mr. Albert proceeded to get is big ol' Magnelite pot out and make us a dinner of potroast duck... to make a long story shorter, I grabbed the teal when we started to eat and it was great, but then I noticed all the other ducks were disappearing pretty fast as the pile of bones grew at each place setting around the table. We ate them all and sopped the gravy with tortillas until it was all gone... 'course, Mr. Albert is from Breaux Bridge, and he's cooked a duck or two in his time...
