I quit a 15 year dipping habit on the the 1st, and am very proud to say that I am 10 days into it with no set backs yet. Ive tried to quit a hundred times before and never made it past the first day, it was alway just so easy to just give up and say ill quit later. Well this time ive beaten it mentally so far. I really thought if I could make it this far I would quit havent that feeling of needing it, its not as bad obviously as the first few days, but it is still there. Also I keep struggling with the thought that maybe one day I can have another one. Like ill be able to just do it once. I know in my head that I can continue to beat it, but it sure will be nice when I get to a point where I stop thinking about it all together. The coolest parts are actually adding days to the count, and secondly its nice to not have to stop by the store, or make a special trip all the time just to get a can.

I quit cold turkey 4 years ago. Once I made it a couple of weeks I was actually afraid to take a dip because I knew that just one and I would be back at it again and the last 2 weeks would be wasted. Don't ever cave in and tell yourself you'll just have one dip. Good luck and congrats on making it through the 1st 10 days. I promise it does get better.

I've been a slave to that garbage for more than 20 years. I have quit three times, once for 19 days. All the experts say that it takes 21 days to make or break a habit. I wish you the best, bud. I wish my testes were big enough to try and quit again. I have been trying to screw up enough courage, but maybe your success will inspire me. Good luck, man, I really hope you stay off it. Win, lose, or draw, keep us posted.

I don't think that you can completely say you are clear from going back to a nicotine addiction. Your body may not crave it as much, but that urge is still there no matter how long it has been. I think once your body quits craving the nicotine, then it is all in your mindset to keep it that way. Good luck with your effort. I chewed tobacco for years, quit, went back and now I am on to smokes. I have quit for over 2 years at a stretch and gone back. I have quit smokes more times than I can remember, but until I get my mind right to quit it is useless. Mine is more of a habit than an addiction. I have not had a smoke since about 3 pm yesterday and I am having no urges, but if I had any in my truck, I would have already had one this morning.
