I’d be interested in taking a look at anything along theses lines:
    9 year old: 2 5/8” barrel 28” -12 To -10
    12 year old: 2 5/8 or larger barrel : 30”-31”. -10 To -8

We’ve swung mainly 1 piece alloy bats the last few years due to balance feel and my feeling that neither of my boys strong enough to get benefit of composite. Saying that, I’d consider one for my 12year old now. PM me if you have something along those specs. Thanks Coach

    I have a demarini cf6 that is basically new. I would have to look but i believe it’s a 31 -10.

We were able to hit a couple of their bats last summer and nobody ended up buying one, if that tells you anything.

Not doubting you but from the picture I see what looks like two parallel gouge/scratches and to the left of that some spiderwebbing in the paint. Which part is the crack?

As to overall bat reliability there are trade offs. Typically the more durable a bat is the less pop it has. This is also why you have tee ball bats, Sr. League, etc... They are engineered to deliver a certain level of performance within a range of applied forces for a general age group. Durability will also vary with drop weight by slowing the speed of the collision and delivering more mass. If he is swinging the bat fast enough to break a drop 8 have him swing a drop 5. If you have a kid who is breaking all drops of Sr. League bats he has simply outgrown that classification of bats and should probably move into BBCOR. Of course you can blame Marrucci but I doubt there is much variance in durability with similar materials and performance from a different manufacturer.

The longer mark is the crack not a scratch. I can stick a small flathead screwdriver in between there. Don’t get me wrong I like Marucci, but they don’t hold up after 4 I’m done and it was at all age level with him 8U-11U all cracked.

Most buyers want either two piece composite (most $$$) or one piece alloy (least $$) so it fits in the middle. That bat has more of an end load feel which is typically not something the majority of travel ball kids are looking for. I’ll start to learn about the 2019 soon when I head to a sales meeting.
So no to get off topic, but what bat do you recommend for USA Bat Little League Rules?

We have several kids on our Select team swinging the LS Prime and the CF Zen. They seem like good bats.

Yeah, I could see that gouge/scratch without the help

You can find scratches that look like that on half of the well used bats in any dugout. From the pic at least, it does not look like a crack. If the OP says that's it then fine but that is not what aluminum typically looks like when it fails.

Is that at the bottom of a dent or is the bat still in its normal shape? I am not doubting you by the way, just curious as I have never seen an aluminum bat crack without denting or otherwise being deformed.

That's crazy. You hung in with them longer than so would have. We have owned only 2 Marrucci that were not wood. My 11u has a drop 8 cat 7 as his cold weather bat now and my 14u had a drop 5 last year briefly while his Zen was banned.
