    Sslect Baseball Bats?

With all the new bats out right now and the rule change what's the best bat out right now? I'm done with Marucci my son has cracked 3 of them, so now looking for another brand with pop. He swings a 31 drop -8 may go to a drop -5 but it's a little heavier bat.

There is no rule change for USSSA. CF Zen continues to be the #1 selling bat in the country. The other two that are selling great is the Louisville Slugger Solo and DeMarini Voodoo One, both of these are one piece alloy.

My favorite -5 is the LS Omaha. That’s my go to in -5.

We've tried alot of them and it's hard to beat the Louisville Sluggers for durability and performance. The DeMarinis are HOT but we cant get 1 to last through a season even when babying one. My 9 yo blew his up this week so like it or not he's getting a Louisville also. Lol. My 12 yo loves his 918 prime and he wasn't at all a fan of the solo, but alot of kids like how they swing.

Just curious how big is your son? That's alot more bat than my little 12yo guy swings. I've thought about bumping him to s drop 8, but haven't tried it yet. He swings a 29 -10 now.

My son just turned 10 last week and has been swinging a 29/19 marucci Posey28 since last spring, it looks rough but no cracks or dents. He's been swinging a cheap 29/21 alloy or a 30/24 wood bat for practice this winter.

Between my 2 boys the most popular bat we see is the Cat7 on their teams, haven't had any issues with them cracking.

Pretty much every composite bat our friends have gone through have cracked, everyone still loves the zen though.

If kids like Cat 7, have them try the DeMarini Voodoo One. I’m flipping a lot of Cat 7 guys with that bat. It’s the one we made to go head to head with it.

He is a big 12 year old not fat just strong LOL! he swings a 30/22 cat7 drop-8 now and swings it hard. He just cracked the Cat7 so we are done with Marucci that's the 3rd one, so looking now for a new one.

Can't beat the gift of size and strength! Mine missed the boat there! Lol. He may really benefit from a composite like the 918 since he can swing a bat that hard. I don't think most kids swing a composite hard enough to get that trampoline effect composites are famous for.

Heath why did LS do away with the 700 series hybrid bats? My son had 2 and absolutely loved them. Great bats!

We had a composite Hex before the Cat7 and cracked it. Marucci recommended him go to the Cat7 and guess what cracked it as well along with the Alloy Hex. Marucci has some pop but can't hold up.

We have it in BBCOR and in USA for this year. It’s a weird price point for USSSA. Most buyers want either two piece composite (most $$$) or one piece alloy (least $$) so it fits in the middle. That bat has more of an end load feel which is typically not something the majority of travel ball kids are looking for. I’ll start to learn about the 2019 soon when I head to a sales meeting.

My 14u son swings a -5 Rawlings 5150. That bat has some pop in it. We have tried them all. The Louisville Omaha bats are solid too. My oldest swung those for years.

That makes sense. Sure is a great little bat though.

We just purchased my son a Rawlings Velo hybrid bat and he seems to like it so far. He had been swinging a Combat Vigor one piece composite that he really did like. Needed to get him a alloy bat for colder weather. He will end up with another Combat. He had to go up in size was the reason for the switch.
