Im ok with most game laws. I've never hunted in a county with a muzzleloader season, but I fully believe it should be legal to kill a deer with a bow during a muzzleloader season.

Anyone who puts up a deer proof fence must have an annual deer survey performed so that restitution can be paid to the state each year for the captured game.
Ban he baiting of deer (to be more in line with most other states)
Elimante the sam Houston WMA. The sam Houston national forest should be the same as other national forest. That land is federal and people shouldn’t have to pay for a very expnesive APH permit to hunt it.
I’d like to see landowners encouraged through tax incentives to open their land to public huntingLast edited by backwoods; 12-26-2017, 10:23 PM.

the only reason it is a WMA is because those fees go towards conservation on that land.Last edited by backwoods; 12-26-2017, 10:43 PM.

And the APH permit is over half the cost of a super combo. It is not cheap. We need to make public land easier for people to access...not more difficult. Hunting access in this state is already too difficult and costs are too high

I'm all for more access and public lands, but its a WMA because the state of Texas spends money on the conservation of that land. That money comes from APH fees.

Caddo and LBJ are national grasslands.... LBJ is not a WMA, but Caddo is...

Furthermore, why burden only hunters with this conservation cost? Why not also charge hikers, campers, mtn bikers etc? If I want to recreate in a state park I have to pay to get in. Why not equally charge everyone on these WMAs?Last edited by backwoods; 12-26-2017, 11:24 PM.

As for hikers/bikers, etc. They are paying through taxes to the federal govt. Hunters are burdened with the cost as they are to every other conservation cost. We are the ones who use that land for extractive resources. In which case we should help pay for those resources.

Maybe the first day of November. Ending with general season in late January. Not all counties have the rut Thansgiving week. October can be really hot as well.
