What pistol should I get for snakes? I'm not going to go hunting snakes, I just would rather be prepared if the encounter happened. I would like to keep the price $300-$400.
My father in law just bought one of the Judge pistols a few months back for snake killing... It is pretty neat, it shoots a 45 (or some like that) and a .410...After shooting it we found that you would have to be pretty close to kill with the .410 loaded in there but it does the job within 10-15ft....Give it a look, you might like it as well.....

I also have one of these and they are great for snakes
theres no need to go buy something expensive, a simple .22 with rat shot will do
I use a Ruger single six with the birdshot loads, works on wasps too If You are close enough to shoot a snake with a pistol, You are close enough to kill them with the birdshot loads.......

Anything that fires a projectile, and it doesn't need to cost $300-$400. The vast majority of snakes shot are those we just want to shoot. I HATE snakes and kill every one I see, but I've never killed one because I had to. This is hardly an issue that requires spending $300-$400 unless you just want to get a new pistol, IMO.
