I would recommend a T/C Contender with a .45 Colt/.410 barrel. You should be able to find one for your price and if you like the gun you can buy other barrels and get a collection going.

X10000000 on the Snake Charmer. Cant beat a .410 for snake and you can shoot it like a pistol.

Ruger single six, it works great.

if you can't hit a snake's head with a plain jane .22 pistol
you'd better not claim to be a Texan

A good wood-n stick works wonders

Great idea....I've been wanting a .22mag pistol for a while.

My XD and buddy's Glock have problems cycling the 40 S&W shot shells so we have to clear them after each shot. I'd feel more comfortable just pullin back the hammer on a single action.....

FYI----One thing not mention here, is that you can also change out the barrels to a different caliber with just one screw on the Snake Charmer. Well built hunk of iron.

I use a .357 Tarus 66. I use the .38 special shot shells for snakes and the .357 for hogs.

I was looking at a Judge in the .45 / .410, but the ballistics and a video showed the overall results of the buck shot not that good. Unless you JUST wanted that pistol to shoot birdshot. Of course you have the option of the .45 but might as well get a high capacity auto and shoot the shotshells out of those. Have an extra clip for regular bullets.

Our neighbor has a Judge. He said it is one of the best things for killing snakes.

I vote the ruger single six in 22 mag. Tough gun, simple cheap, I bought mine in a pawn shop for $150 and the are just fun and cool.
