Originally posted by junkmanhunter View PostMichael, maybe my post was misunderstood. There was a question asked on why the Christian issue kept being brought up. I was stating in the earlier threads, there were a lot of people saying he was a Christian man and would never break the law. That is what was posted. I don't know the man, but from the support of his friends, he sounds like a good person. Like I said in an earlier post, he made either a questionable or bad decision and he is having to deal with it.
I have always wished him the best and hope he gets to keep his deer.
"I know so and so...he's a Christian...he'd never do that."
There are two sides of the Christian support.....one junkman has listed and the one Michael has brought to the forefront..

I honestly suspect the reason that there is any potential case against Travis is purely because he was completely honest about the particulars, even if his honesty ultimately implicates him.
Not trying to jump on here just trying to set the record straight and be clear. It was said and insinuated many times.
The fact that nothing is being said leads people to speculate human nature, that doesn't mean they have to tell all just because we are curious it just means those that know him can't expect people to fill in the blanks until we do hear the full story.

And only the hunter knows for sure, but if he crossed 8 property lines and shot it on the run, the facts point in that direction. I know I would have not given up easily on a buck of that nature, and I would have probably squeezed one off after dark if I could have taken him down. The sad truth is his honesty might be his downfall.

Woooo hoooo. 151. Low fence, small acreage. Taken legally by an agnostic that loves satanic heavy metal and movies.
LOL.
I am kinda friends with Travis and am hoping for the best.Last edited by Burntorange Bowhunter; 10-24-2017, 07:21 PM.

I feel really bad for this guy. I know that a HUGE number of us have dispatched deer to end a hunt in a humane manner after legal shooting hours. By the rules my dad is a poacher, as I saw him cut the throat on a deer that I spine shot when I was 8 years old. He waited for it to die and finally decided to end its suffering, well after legal shooting hours and not by legal means. Bologna! I agree completely if this was a cull or unremarkable deer nobody would have questioned it.
I also am amazed to see how brethren of the bow are so quick to turn on each other and spew incorrect or unconfirmed information...just don't get it. The facts will speak. There are simply too many variables to judge a man and his character without knowing the details and knowing the facts. Focker out!
