Give him time. That shot looks really close to a shot I made on my first good buck with a bow. Sounds like he was acting the same too. As long as you didn’t jump him I think you’ll be good in the morning. I saw buzzards in the area that I shot mine at about 3 hours later so I went back to find him and jumped him up. Found him about 24 hours after the shot about 3/4 of a mile away. Here’s the video of my shot.

This is what I think as well. From the second pic, it looks like the arrow is mainly in the shoulder. Possible the broadhead cut one lung during his sprint.

I thought about going tonight, but the grass is very tall right now so if it turns into a walk and look deal, I would prefer daylight. It's also already 50 degrees and supposed to cool down to 45 or so. If I were to find him in the morning, do you think meat will still be good?
