What are these Bow Only counties being mentioned? I didn't know there was such a thing in Texas. Edumacate me...

Grayson has been bow only for a very long time. I think the others are Dallas, Rockwall, and Collin.

As always, check the regs to be sure...

There's a chance that it isn't, but it is very slim. I have more pics to compare than you are seeing. The drop tine on the left beam and the brow tines are the give away.

Legal hunting hours are 30 mins before sunrise and 30 mins after sunset. I never understood seeing a hunter track a wounded animal on hunting shows with a bow or gun in hand after legal shooting light. You can't legally shoot it if you found it. So what's the point of carrying a weapon on an after dark recovery. Best to just back out and come back the next morning. Great if you recover it dead, but if not hope for another chance at it during legal hunting hours. Just something that has always bothered me.

I've tracked deer only to have a mountain lion find it, and another time had a large pack of coyotes find it first. That's a great reason to carry a weapon while looking for a wounded deer

But, for those that didn't know, there are giants in Denton County. lol... I've seen some beauties near Pilot Point.

I must have missed where anybody said it was...

There were some questions asked about tracking after dark and Grayson was brought up as a place that frowned upon dispatching deer after dark with a rifle....nothing more..
