I bought my first 60# bow a few years ago, because I was having some shoulder issues. I think it's set somewhere in the mid 50s, and I LOVE it. It's still plenty strong to slice through critters.

Wannabe hunted Africa with a 42# Mathews Switchback XT. She got pass-throughs on most animals, including a kudu.

60 pounds is what I have my bow set at.

A few of my setups require me to shoot sitting down and I feel more comfortable shooting that poundage. I've even contemplated lowering it a couple pounds, but haven't yet.

I have always shot 70-73 pounds. But had shoulder surgery a few years back and bought a 60 lb. bow to use until I could shoot 70 comfortably again. But after shooting the 60 lb. now for some time I don't really see a need to shoot the older bow.

                  70.

No downside and arrow is in air for less time. Pins are closer together also. Don't see a reason to shoot less until I get old or hurt.

                    Shoot 70#

No issues drawing from any position including sitting

I'm short and because of my draw length I have to get every ounce of speed I can

70# but I have no problem pulling back, 50# is fine also my son shoots around 50# and blew right through a deer last year.
