Length of exposure----you aren't gonna look directly at the sun for 2-3-4-5 minutes today, but with the dimmer light of the eclipse, you are risking your sight. I have a black floater in each eye--not from sun-gazing--and believe me, it is a major distraction while hunting. Each time I move my eyes, the black spots move and my mind automatically shouts "Deer-Hog".

Don't do it, not worth it, get your #14 protection and use it or don't look.

Yeah, wait until your hunting small game like squirrels. Floaters will drive you nuts!

Yes wear shades under it and that will put you at about a 13 or more. I will be using my 10 and shades.
