I am with ya. I have coached all my life. Mowed yards for extra money. I love mowing my own grass and taking really good care of my own lawn. I was always outside till dark doing something. Now if it's over 85 degrees or so all I want to do is stay inside and take it easy. I am 56 now and it started about 2 years ago. If it's below 85 degrees I seem to do fine outside.

In fact, we had a 3 hour football practice this morning and I just woke up from a nap lol!

I just turned 60. The heat slays me now. There was a time when it couldn't get hot enough to suit me. Not so much anymore.

Ok, lack of energy, weight gain, age....

Could be several things including just plain ole' depressed over age but...
*Get a FULL check up, particularly for late onset diabetes
*Dropping Testosterone levels will affect everything from "feeling good," to weight gain, etc.
*Thyroid problems can also affect ALL of the above and the way you feel day to day

If you have a physician you trust, then talk to him/her honestly and find out if there is any physical reason, besides age progression, that is affecting you AND take comments (including mine) with a grain of salt AND don't trust your internet research!!!!!!!

I'm in the same condition, worked my butt off ALL my life but in 4 months I'm retiring and enjoying life!! My late Father used to say..."Gettin' old aint for sissies..." lol, he was right!!

Heck I'm 40 something and get tired tieing my shoes. Seems like it wasn't that long ago when a 12 hr day of laying down 17,000' of drill pipe and a few beers at night was no big feat. Now I have a hard enough time just getting to the rig floor. Might have to check into this testosterone thing. I know of a couple guys at work younger than me using it. Might have a chat with them.

It hit me in my mid 50's. I went to a cardiologist and ended up getting two stents in my heart.

At some point we all have to slow down.

                    I hate summer.

It started with me when I turned 58 or 59. I'm a rancher and have worked in the heat all my life. I can no longer work in the heat of July and August. Getting old isn't for sissies!

My body is changing. I can still work hard but seem to have a deeper energy crash at the end. Hard to put one foot in front of the other tired. When I replenish calories and water I recover.......but I never remember these deep crashes in energy.

There is wisdom in these words. Many of us are quite possibly dealing with this very issue but haven't been checked out properly. Like Kuma says, get yourself to a real doctor and find out what is going on with your body. Look at it as a 100,000 mile tuneup. I'm due as well.

you might consider checking your vitamin D level. low vitamin D levels will my you feel very fatigued and tired. make sure you get the prescription strength and not the over the counter stuff. good luck
