I'm 33. Been hunting (kinda sorta) since I was 9. My family never really hunted. Just the past maybe 5 years have gotten more heavily involved in hunting. I've only owned a bow for about a year, still very new to me in that respect.
I guess I've been around hunting most of my life. I'm 45 years old and I have pictures of me in diapers, standing up in the truck seat between my Dad and Uncle, while they were riding around back roads hunting rabbits. First deer(5pt) at 15. I started bow hunting around 1995 and I'm now 95% archery. I will get my rifle out if I get mad at them though...lol!!
I'm 35...started going with Dad when I was 3-4 years old. Killed my first deer when I was 7 with a rifle. Started killing with a bow 21 years ago at age 14.
48 years and been hunting since i was 5 with my Dad....killed dove with a single shot .410 with him. Killed a spike a few years later.
Archery hunting time is complicated. First animal with a bow was either 1980 or 1981....its a bit fuzzy ....It was a Corsican ram on the YO ranch with my Dad with a 50lb Indian compound. I hunted with a bow from 1980 to 1991 but it really took off when we moved to the Hill Country in 1983. Separated a shoulder in a duck hunting fall in 92 and left the bowhunting behind because I couldn't draw a bow without pain. Fell in low with waterfowling and hunted them hard from 1989-2007. Was introduced to a Mathews Switchback's smooth easy draw and 85% let off in late 2005 and my fire with bowhunting was rekindled. I've been 99% bow only every since. I guess that puts me at starting my 22nd year of bowhunting .
Me with my corsican in the green army camo with my head turned away. Was trying to let my liuttle brother come in with his bow killed spanish goat. Cannot find my "LDP" like Dad's below.
I got a little bit later start than other hunters that grew up in hunting families. I grew up in the woods and going on hunting trips but I didn't learn how to shoot until I was 12 or 13.
I started bow hunting in 1973 or 74. Bought a Browning Nomad 50# recurve but quit after I graduated high school. My son got me back into bow hunting in 2006 I think so...
