    Who uses a brush blind

Just checking, I moved leases, and new one has lots of cedar to make blind with
Growing up my grandfather used them often, over the past few years I have noticed that when I bring up building one my fellow members are strongly opposed to them .

Why would they be opposed? They work great. I spent many days when I was a kid sitting on a 5 gallon bucket in a brush blind

Natural cover is the best cover! Why would they be opposed to the idea? Cedar for one is one of the best scent covers out there. Less cuts you have to make the better. Just sit under the canopy of a big brushy cedar and trim a little shooting window. If multiple cedars throughout you have more stand location options.

Can't go wrong. Other members will be asking how you tagged out when they haven't even seen a deer!

We share all our blinds, and they want big multiple people all weather blinds,
I have some extra feeders and found some good spots for some ground blinds and am building some
They are kinda spoiled I guess

We have a few already built (thanks kactuskiller) and I plan to build one in a secret spot I stumbled on in the off season.

I like them for pigs especially.

Dad had a lease in Sutton county, and there was not a single "blind" on the place, it was all cedar and mesquite and burlap, there was some studs killed off the place..

How do you "build" a brush blind? This would be great for public land.

Well that's a different subject all together if the overall lease goal is different. Nothing wrong with ground blinds by the way. .

Spent hundreds of hours sitting in a cedar blind hunting turkeys with my grandfather as a kid growing up. Still make cedar/mesquite blinds for turkey in the spring. Get some bull panel to use as a "frame". Cut shooting windows out and then hang your cedar/mesquite branches on the panels. Will make you a great ground blind. We even cut the panels into 4-5' sections and then use bull rings to tie each section together to make like a tri-fold. Makes em somewhat portable/mobile and easy to set up.

They work well on the public land i hunt. Killed deer and pigs out of them. In high pressure areas

Some of the closest encounters I had with deer were in brush blinds.
