Cut a bottom for it and wire it on. Cut a door in the side to access the timer. The varmint cage only needs to be 10 inches long to keep the coons out. It's 100% coon proof. Yes 100%. We've done this for many years.

See post 27. If it's anything more that 1"X11" mesh they are getting to it. They will even get their shoulder in a 1x2" mesh as you can see in my pics

Not yet as there is no sense getting a patent until I'm positive it will keep coons and squirrels form getting corn from the spinner plate. I'm already sure it works but I need units in the field to be positive. That means lots of testing first. Luckily I run 19 feeders on 4 properties so I have lots of feeders to test them on. This is why I'm not giving out any details on it yet or showing any pictures of it.

I can say that the sample I have made has been working at my house for days but I only have squirrels here at the house and the squirrels have had no luck getting to the corn, they haven't even been able to get to the corn sitting on the top of the box let alone the corn on the spinner plate. This was without the control box hooked up to the feeder, I just set the box on the ground with my unit attached and i dropped corn on the spinner plate and box and none of the corn has been touched and there are a lot of squirrels at my house because I feed a lot.

Yeah that's a pretty low success rate for big numbers..

This design works well for my feeder.
They can't fit their arms in between the plates to reach reach the spinner.
If you like a quiet feeder this AIN'T your option. Those plates make an awful racket.

I'm interested. I wouldn't mind cutting the cage off my stand and fill

I like it but the problem is that design has to be specifically made for each type of feeder/control box and I want one much more universal then that even though mine can only go on feeders that use a standard 12V control boxes, there are many people that have standard size control boxes. How much corn gets knocked down by those plates, I would imagine quite a bit with the gap between the plates so small.

I'm stingy with my corn and only throw for 5 seconds at a time but it throws it well passed my feeder pen which is 30'.

Anxious to see your better mousetrap.
