Dog or .22 caliber and your goat problem will be solved.... As for the #^*++%#^ you call a neighbor, kick him in the jewels on account of his sorry attitude.

Seems to me it is your neighbors responsibility to keep their goats out of your yard. If they gave me a dismissive response then I would shoot the goats.

Texas is still a fence out state if I am correct.....none the less I have a couple of dogs you can borrow. They are sure hungry since my fair goats are gone!

Stuff some drano granules inside a tomatoe or whatever they like to eat in your garden. Bye bye.

Yes I do miss the "disrepair" part because it is not there. Texas is a "fence out" state.

I had a similar issue. I discussed it with the neighbor the first couple times and was very understanding about it. However, when I brought up needing to fix the fence to hold his livestock he was unwilling to help and more or less said it was my problem, deal with it.

Rather than get in an argument I called animal control, explained the situation, and the steps I had taken and they made a phone call to the neighbor. The animal control officer explained to him the law and how it would be handled the next time his livestock got out.

That fixed the problem but, my neighbor was upset for me telling on him.

So, my advice is first to call animal control and explain the situation. Then, if the goats get on your place again, contain them without harming them, call animal control and let them handle it.

Real simple just turn them out the front gate, or take down part of your fence to let them out somewhere else.

Run a hot wire above the fence. It will just take one or two hits and they will stop. Chargers can be bought cheap.
