Darn neighbors goats are eating my chicken feed and garden!

Our neighbors goats have figured out how to jump a 6' fence and come to our side to eat the chicken feed. They kick our hens away from the feeder, then kick the feeder open and just gorge themselves. Once done there they hop the 6' fence into the garden and start mowing down my produce. I've talked to the owners and their response is "well build a bigger fence". I'm not paying out to build a taller fence to keep the goats out. Heck I just got this one done to keep the deer out of the feed and garden. Yes I know it's the goats and not deer as I've ran them out of the yard 10 or 20 times in the last week.

Thoughts on how to stop the goats from getting in or eating my feed that won't hurt the chickens?

    Richard.

I'd have a problem with the neighbor. Goats would go away.

Call the local sheriff and have him pick up the goats. Tell him that just appeared on your place.

Sounds like time for a cookout! Goats are the headliner!

Cook one of the goats on an open spit where the neighbors can see this weekend.

I know of several dogs that have a real taste for cabrito, I bet there's one or two living close to you right now. If not I know a guy that rigged up an electric fence that operated on 110v ac, guaranteed to turn Bulls, hogs, and pit bulls, just gotta be really careful about who you allow into the hot zone.

But in all seriousness your problem is with the neighbors. Goats don't know they're trespassing.

                    One word: Cabrito.

I have a cool idea. Fix the fence. Maybe even ask your neighbor nicely to help you.

When the answer was "build a bigger fence," the solution was to start hunting goats in your yard.

                        Cabrito

I must have missed the part where the OP said his fence was in disrepair. He's already talked to the neighbor.
