Another big headed idiot that thinks their job makes them better than others, she just happens to be a judge.

Did he ever have any problems with student athletes making trouble at UT? I can't recall any similar instances during his tenure in Austin. If she's so desperate to blame someone, blame the parents. This lack of respect for authority or lack of respect for women (or people in general) begins at home.

This issue is now in HER courtroom. She now has the accountability to make sure justice is served, whichever way it goes. (I have not seen evidence so I can't convict the kid). But once charges were filed and placed in her courtroom the accountability of the actions lies with her and that courtroom. She can either hold the kid accountable or find someone else to blame. She has the power.Last edited by rladner; 05-04-2017, 07:13 AM.

Running a athletic program is like running a business. (yeah i said it, it's all about money) When your employees (athletes) are gone from their job, they are no longer your problem. If they do something that warrants firing then they will be gone. You can't hold someone else responsible for an adult doing something on their own time.

A lot of great points here and I agree, the judge was out of line, but I can't help feeling like the coaching staff, and the discipline instilled in the athletes, plays some role in their behavior off the field or court. Lou Holtz come to mind, those athletes dressed in suits and said yes mam and no mam.

Lou Holtz may not have had the same impact in his first 6 months as he did in year 10

I agree with everything here. The judge is an idiot and I would be in favor of removing her from her seat for this. She is way out of line. It is her job to run the courtroom, not lecture others. First, her statements indicate the player is guilty. He may very well be guilty but in her position she better have the stance innocent until proven guilty. If not, she is in the wrong spot. Second, Charlie is at best a distant 3rd behind the individual (he is 18 and should be held responsible for his actions) and the individual's parents (and they are a distant second). As others have stated, this is what is wrong with the country. Blame is shifted from the person who should be held accountable. I bet she blamed the teachers and principals when her kid messed up at school. Charlie could have more responsibility in this if he had recruited the kid (did he do anything prior like some of Briles' kids) and/or had more time with the kids to instill his discipline. Even then it should still be on the individual.

The judge has apparently voluntarily recused herself from the case.

Strong may not have been the answer on the football field, but off the field, he seemed like and was reportedly a stand up Man.
