I ask my doctor about it when this subject came up on here some time back, and he STRONGLY advised against any testosterone therapy and said the risk of cancer growth was too high.

Just do the shots. I do one a week. Nothing to it.

There's risks of being fat too. Pick your poison.

It is like fuel for prostate cancer, look at the risks there before making a decision.

I would do A LOT of thinking and research about this before you do it. There are definitely some down sides to it. There was just some research done in a large group of men that showed there was an increase in cardiovascular risk with testosterone injections. If you exercise regularly you can naturally increase test levels with out the associated risk.

            That's bs. It's not "fuel".

No it is not B S. Injections of male hormones CAN cause a tumor to grow.

For decades, the medical establishment erroneously conjectured that testosterone replacement therapy increases one's risk of prostate cancer.

                  AGAIN, PLEASE SEE A DOCTOR

Thanks for posting that info. My information is dated, but my doctor does not believe it is worth the risk. I had prostate cancer in 1998, and I would not wish it on anybody.

no problem. thats tough, glad you beat it. that would definitely be a reason not to get on it, with a past history of cancer

Interested as well my T levels are on the bottom of ok. had a buddy that took shots from a low t center and ended up with blood clots after a year or so. Now he's taking an alternate pill to help produce T called clomiphene citrate

Do you workout or exercise? Are you eating good? Are you a healthy weight for your frame?

If you don't do the above, I would try this before injections. Alot of risks

                            Lol love the logic.

What about eating better or trying to lose weight and not just taking easier way out and giving shots?

This. It's amazing what not eating fast food and working out on the weight pile will do for you.

I'll be 61 yrs. old in a couple of weeks, and started using the testosterone gel (T-Gel) a few years ago due to osteoporosis. That is the only reason why I use any type of testosterone supplement. I already have problems with arthritis, spinal stenosis, degenerative joint disease, etc. I fell from a bicycle a few years back and fractured my right radius (upper bone in your forearm). Luckily, the fracture was stable, non-displaced, and not painful, but the fracture would not heal despite a bone growth stimulator. Lab work revealed a very low testosterone level. Shortly after beginning testosterone gel, the fracture finally healed. I agree with what others have suggested: do your research, and consult a physician on this.

                                Good luck,

                                Dave
