Help from you older guys, Low T

Doctor called me this week and said my blood work came back with low testosterone levels and wanted to know if I wanted to come in once a month for a shot, how many of yall have had this and are the shots worth doing at 60 years old, any side effects and or did you feel better after taking it, any info is welcomed.

    God Bless

Do your research. There are risks to it...

Once a month is not going to do anything but cause wild swings in hormone levels. Your Dr. wants money.

proper treatments require weekly shots (or bi-weekly shots) to level out the peaks and valleys.

If you interested in doing it, go find a Dr that will do the inserts.

You may wanna check with this doctor in Plano who does the pellets that are FDA approved which your insurance may pay for.

I go in once every 3-4 months and get the pellets done instead of having to do a shot every week. Look up testopel.

Better find a good doctor who does this. I have heard of way to many people with huge swings in testosterone levels due to large doses once a month. Your body doesnt make hormones once a month and needs consistency

Testopel is what Dr. Mulchin in Plano has and these are FDA approved. I go about every 5 months and it cost me a $35 out of pocket with my insurance.

Like said above, once a month will do more harm than good, if he's talking injections.

Bish, give me a call if you wanna discuss it. I'm a nurse, and a dude, and have experience in the area if you want input.

My boss has a cream that he applies to his arm pits. It is a daily cream that keeps his T levels steady. He is in his mid 60's. I don't know anything about it other than that. But just something to ask.

After I was radiated at work, my levels hit rock bottom. It sucked. I was placed on andro gel and after a few weeks I bounced back and haven't needed it. I had to rub it on my shoulders daily
