The Berkley power bait eggs is what we use. The sunrise or rainbow colors work great. If they were just stocked try the hatch brown color. The hatch brown looks like the fish food they were fed at the hatchery.

This is the first time she has been fishing. I'm going to be doing good to show her good enough to fish much less a casting contest.

They just stocked one of the ponds here in Victoria. Is there a limit of how many you can keep?

Put a glob of the stuff above on a small hook and free line with light line..

          or

on light line, tie a floating fly on, then tie a piece of line from the floating line to a brown colored sinking fly about to 8-10 inches long. Use the floating fly as the bobber, the trout will think the sinking fly is fish pellet they get fed while being raised. Caught 21 in AZ with a buddy using this method.

According to Parks and Wildlife, the limit is 5 a day on trout.

The info on this shindig says all adults must have a fishing license. Does grandma have to have one just to come watch? She won't be fishing.

Use 4lb test line. Smaller the line the more fish you will catch. Small hook with either a kernel of corn or power bait, fished on the bottom. Good luck and have fun.
