I used a traffic attorney once on an insurance issue. Ended up costing me about $100 more than if I would have just paid up. After that I figured I'll just represent myself.

hard to beat with cameras, gps, radar. what can a lawyer argue ? when was the last time you calibrated your radar ? me; never, lawyer; you've never calibrated your radar? me ; No sir, lawyer; why not? me; because that is done by a factory trained technician and I wouldn't know how to calibrate it, but the unit does a self diagnostic check upon activation, and I do carry my tuning forks to check that the unit was within specs and it was , lawyer; I have no further questions. judge; pay on your way out . next

Yep and Lidar usually has a stationary lidar unit and officer calling out speed to the catch vehicles so now you have 2 officer's testimony to your speed plus your video and audio of the stop .
