    Tractor advice

looking to buy a 30-40 horse tractor. Will use on 25 acres to shred and general work. No farming.

Also will use a week per year in south texas to shred senderos.

Question is this - if paying extra for a full cab worth it? I get that the AC etc will be nice but not sure I will be spending enough time in it to warrant a full cab and the cost. Thoughts?

I personally wouldn't pay the extra. I have a 34HP kubota, and the cab would hinder me getting under the trees to shred.

Quality of life. Like dust in your lungs?

If you are in areas where you may stir up bees it can literally be a life saver.

4025 mahindra here. I'd of busted the glass out 1000 times had I bought a cab tractor. I'm sure its nice but its just not feasible to me.

I would have a cab if it's all open field work. Most of mine is going through the woods on narrow roads and brush hogging close to the tree line. I would destroy a cab at my ranch but boy would I love to have one on those 100 degree days brushing hogging.

First time you disturb some bee's or wasp, then you can smile and say the cab was worth the cost.

Cab all the way! Resale value will be there as well when/if needed

I would say cab if money isn't an issue and it will do the job. My dad has a 40hp john deere with no cab and its no fun during hot summer, and we only shred 10-11 acres. Between the heat and dust it can be miserable

Yup, cab for me, and specifically for the stinging critter protection. We have lots of hornets in my area in the panhandle and they'll build nests just about anywhere they please, including in small brush that I would typically shred or even on the ground.

A cab is worth the money if you will be spraying chemicals. Outside of that, you are paying a lot of money for comfort.
