    1001 opinions.

I dislike the large knives posted above.

I like small blades and a larger handle.

    Good luck on your search.

For a skinning knife I have used cutco for over 15 years. I have both blades and though the "double d" will stay sharper longer I prefer the straight edge and will still skin 6-7 deer before I touch it up.

I have a 3 blade Browning and it has been an awesome knife. Life is much easier with a gut-hook. :-)

Outdoor edge, I have used the swingblade knife for several years! I love it, holds an edge very well and also is easy to resharpen!

I would find a U.S. made branded "Western" and call it good.

Love this set. I have had it almost ten years, holds a blade for a good while.

I had Mike C. make some before my wedding and they came in under that price. Hold a great edge, look great and got a custom knife from a local guy

I have the Buck Alpha Crosslock and it has quickly become my favorite.

This is a whitetail skinning fool. Big Ol knives are not exactly "skinning" knives.

Send Bjankowski a pm in here. Top quality, sharp and within your price range. I got one from him last year and now is my go to knife when skinning animals. He recently added some on the DIY section with some beautiful hybrid scales.
