Maybe now I won't have to hear "It's Not who we are". Obama has said it for 8 years and Hillary has started using it. Well, apparently, It is who we are. I listened to NPR today and listened to all the liberals trying to come up with a reason Hillary lost. The main reason they gave was basically that ignorant non-college educated white men who they implied should not be allowed to vote had come out a ruined everything.

The only thing I have to say about all this is.......practice what you preach or STFU!

I prefer “"He frustrates the plotting of the shrewd, So that their hands cannot attain success.”

Spot on for sure. I am so tired of this leftist, liberal mentality that we have been force fed for the past 20 years at a gradual pace. They started slowly with things like no corporal punishment thanks to Dr Spock. Then graduated to sports without winners and losers. And have now finished their doctorate in "how dare you disagree with my point of view that disagrees with your point of view"! So here we stand a couple of days after the election results are in and the left have begun to protest the results.
We have the Hispanic left wing narrative (Thank God we have the right wing hard working Hispanic group to counter this) that is offended that some one may be deported [New York Times]“We’re all just kind of waiting for a ticking time bomb, like looking around and thinking who will be deported,” Chuy Fernandez (son of a Mexican immigrant). C'mon are you serious? People are afraid that someone who has broken the law will have to pay for their crime.

Also, if Hillary had won, I would have framed the same narrative within a context easiest for liberals to understand.

Thirdly, I didn't vote for either, so it's not like I'm feeling an extreme of either elation or heartbreak. But, it's crucial that we put aside grudges and ideological differences and try to unify ourselves as a nation as we move forward into the next administration. Be the bigger person.

If you were a Christian and understood the life of Christ you would realize that this isn't a representation of being Christ-like. You are excluding that Christ was passionate and full of zeal for the Law of God. He used a whip to clear out the godless from the courts of Gods temple. And there is reason for this, because the court was intended for prosthelytyzing. Which is a right that Christians repeatedly find themselves being stripped of. Also Christ stood firmly for moral truth. When He said "I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father but through Me.” That truth is still present today, although the left have used decades to mar and re-define it away from God. And finally Christ stood for LOVE! A love that was expressed in a question to Peter when He asked "do you love Me?". And as Peter expressed his love, he discovered that it was a portion of the love that Christ used and not the same. So as Christ discerned this distinction to Peter, he finished with this "feed my sheep". And today many liberals, leftists, or atheist would and have forcefully wanted us who follow Christ to exclude this principal of "feed my sheep". That is feed with Christ like LOVE, ANGER, ZEAL, TRUTH, and COMPASSION, but all are equally important. So when we as followers of Christ have zeal and anger towards those who oppose the TRUTH of God we do it with LOVE and COMPASSION.

Conservatives, don't rub it in. Be kind and compassionate to your ideological opponents, and remind them that this is one of the only countries on the planet where our populace can be so divided, yet still love each other as brothers and sisters. For the majority of you that are Christians, think about what Jesus would do - seriously; don't forget to use this opportunity to act Christlike.

Liberals, I'm sorry. I know you and I are opposed on fiscal/governmental ideals but aligned on social ideals, but I promise you - the world is not ending. Once an election cycle ends, all of the fire and brimstone goes away and the rhetoric cools down. I know Trump said utterly unacceptable things, and I too think he owes the American people a big apology for that behavior. But the American people overwhelmingly said that they are done with Washington.

Most of you who know me know how outspoken I am, and and how much I love using uncensored, raw language in dispensing my unique brand of commentary on the issues I'm passionate about. Not today. Today, the only thing I have to say is that if you're reading this, YOU matter to me, and whether you are elated, heartbroken or terrified, we're in this together.

God bless the United States of America!

Well said and you are correct "we are all in this together" everything will be ok!

You know what is cool? For the past 8 years, people with traditional American values were dismissed with a condescending "tisk-tisk, you poor little simple-minded neanderthal hillbilly" attitude that very clearly sent the message that thinking the way we did was hilariously outdated and scary to the point of needing to be controlled with law after law.

Well guess what? The message has been sent loud and clear - American values are alive and well and all the metro sexual, politically correct, religion hating, look at me types can either stick it where the sun don't shine or come on over and join the real world.

I am so thankful and relieved to know that we are the foundation of the country and not little island outposts of traditional values destined to either conform or become extinct!

                    God bless America!

In order to govern for more than 4 years, Trump is going to have to come center right, which still is scary to 18 year olds who have had more than half their concious lives been presided over by a hard line left uncompromising liberal who they STILL think isn't radical enough.

                      It's pretty insane.

So, post election statements are being made in protest...........had we done this when Obama was elected we would have been labeled racist.

I've not made a single word of protest in my OP. I'm just trying to promote the importance of each side working to come together after a divisive, emotional election. I'm glad Hillary didn't win.

My post defines the difference in tact (and I'm talking about the protestors marching), it was a free and fair election.
