    Hunter Harassment

Well I thought last night, opening day that this siren/whistle noise was maybe a low battery alarm on oil field location or a back up alarm shorting out on a piece of equipment. Then again this evening at 6:52 it's starts again. It's like a whoop with a whistle in it and sounds off ever 6 or 7 seconds. Anyone have an idea what this guy has going on over the fence. I'm calling the warden tomorrow to have him check it out. The deer have disappeared since this.

Does the neighbor have cattle? Could just be calling them to feed

Could be a propane cannon or similar. Used to run off unwanted pest. Aka, deer

I've heard the propane cannons in the pecan groves to keep the crows away---they go 24/7 and the hogs and deer get used to them. I've also hunted within about 30 yds of an active oil well that would kick on about every 10 minutes, run for 3 minutes, repeat. Didn't keep the deer away at all.

Wouldn't hurt to have the GW check it out unless you are already on bad terms with your neighbor--he might just turn up the volume/frequency and start in the AM too.

That was my first thought. Some use a truck horn some an annoying siren or bullhorn

Don't worry its not going to mess with the deer, they get used to it going off every day....

Relax, Noise does not bother deer, movement and scent are your enemy when it comes to deer. The question in the situation is, " Do you own/lease the other side of that fence" if the answer is "No" then it is a non-issue.

It's not a cattle siren. I was raised using one of those and you feed cattle in the morning. And not a air cannon either, neighbors growing up had them on watermelon patch.

It is an issue if he's intentionally doing it!!! I drive my ranger right up to my tree 5 minutes before my feeder goes off. I'm 20 yards from the feeder I don't think the deer can see, hear or smell me eating my pizza and drinking beer.

I'm curious why you think cattle only get fed in the morning.
A lot of us with cattle have "real" jobs as well.
Feeding them in the evening after work is common practice.

Did you feed cattle 2x's per day, especially with range conditions good to great like they are across most of the state?
