Chavis' current D is from players before Texas and Strong were making recruiting improvement. This is the season for those. That season for Malik is two years away.

He did the crime and he will do his punishment. I am not sure were you are getting anything different.

What I outlined is in several posts above about him being a good kid and not to judge, not wanting to start a pissing match thread here just pointing it out. I personally agree that kids will be kids and do stupid stuff. I for one am guilty of such crimes at that age, just never got caught.

Only problem with your comparison is Johnny proved himself to NOT be a good kid long before the autograph thing. His troubles at A&M and in high school are well documented. Perk had never been in trouble at all.

Regardless of how fair, or not, a one game suspension is for Perk, he and Johnny couldn't possibly be more different. I'm not dogging Johnny. Most of his issues were typical college stuff we don't need to rehash. It's a non event. I'm just pointing out that no matter how typical it was, Perk hasn't been busted or even accused of anything whatsoever until his stupid move with the DUI.

They point about him being a good kid is only brought up in the punishment phase that some people wanted to question. Since he has never been in trouble and a good kid by all accounts, he got the standard punishment in college football for a first DWI. Nobody is looking to give him a pass or take up for him. Like I said, he did the crime and will serve his punishment. Nobody is defending his actions.

Man overboard, Boren has jumped off his expansion ship.

Such a mess. I'm happy with no expansion but I'm starting to believe UT is part of a new ACC when this GOR ends if not sooner.

Do you think we are tied to TT in any realignment?

I don't think its a mess, I just don't think there are any good candidates that meet the requirements for expansion. BYU and Cincy are about the only two that come close in my mind.

The Big 12 can expand just to expand (and collect the new money coming in), but I don't think Texas and OU want to sign a new GOR to do so. If you expand, you will have to split into divisions and everyone will have to add another OOC game. The intriguing part for me is if the Big 12 is able to be the first major conference to sign up with Twitter, Apple, etc for the right to broadcast their games. This could be bring in crazy money. I believe the other networks are locked into longer deals which gives the Big 12 the chance to be the first.

As for Tech, I don't think we are tied to Tech but they could be a good travel partner if it was needed. There will be some pressure from the State Leg to not leave them behind so to speak.

I have no problem with the suspension.
DUI isn't one of the five core values to break.
