A guy on our lease had this happen a couple of years back. It was real nasty inside, but he cleaned it up and hunted out of it. not real sure what he used other than bleach.

Just took over a place, went up to a blind that was there. shook it and 2 barn owls flew out.... Got a ladder and looked 10 eggs! Called the game warden to see if they would relocate, Nope. blind is a no go until gone. The stink is awful! Guess I'll try and do a time lapse thread when they hatch.

Had this happen a few years ago after I cleaned it the smell got better but after about a year the floor rotted out. By rotted I mean even the treated 2x4 frame boards rotted in half. Built a new blind with windows and trashed the old one. I dont know what kind of fungi and such that buzzard shat grows but I never seen lumber rot that fast.

GEt a gallon of Vinegar and a pump sprayer. After you get it cleaned out, soak it and let it dry, may need to repeat several times.
Something else that works on skunk sprayed areas is 3 quarts hydrogen peroxide mixed with one cup baking soda. Mix in pump sprayer and and spray entire area.
I have two blinds that raised owls this year. These are $3K blinds, so I really don't want to go the burning route. I will be using both methods this weekend!Last edited by BrianL; 09-14-2016, 09:54 AM.

I don't know about getting the smell out of a stand but I drove up on a group on a dirt road and one laid what appeared to a gallon bucket of the foulest smelling sh^t on the hood of my new white truck. Not only was it the worst smell I think I have been around it discolored the paint in less than 24 hours. So bottom line it's some bad sh^t pun intended!
