I totally agree. Nine years ago I was the only person I knew of to ever kill a 200" deer. Now I know a few people that have. Of course mine is free range and theirs are high fence. Also, people who see my deer just assume it's a HF deer. Ticks me off a little....

I agree and will take it a step farther, a LF trophy is very regional.

I'd say killing a 150 typical 10 or 12 in the post oak region where I hunt would equal killing a 200" south Texas or Kansas deer. This is an area where 130's are a really good deer and 140's a monster.

My perspective is a lot different.
Deer are just walking meat, I never knew we were supposed to use them to measure our manhood.
The same frame of mind that says a big deer counts more if it is killed in Kansas than a high fence place in South Texas can be used to say a big deer in Kansas does not count as much as a smaller deer killed in East Texas.

Does a free range Caribou count more than a South African Kudu

We are all just a bunch of big kids playing in the woods, shoot what makes you happy.

I promise there will always be someone out there that is killing something bigger than what you killed

I agree with what you are saying. I do not have anything near your 209 but I have taken several mature bucks with my bow. They might not score what a HF deer would but I am ****ed sure proud of them.
