Is your client not from TX? I know an Axis deer will grab my attention over a WT any day being that its something I never even knew existed until I moved here...

Really tasty but it was full of tiny tendons. You couldnt chew it up enough to swallow it when cooked over a camp fire.
The natives cut it up into little chunks and make soup out of it but I didnt try any of the soup.

If someone has the money to buy genetics they will swear by it until the day they die.....$$$$$$

I see where you are coming from. I too enjoy looking at bucks of all kinds (High fence or low fence). It does seem like the 150"+ free range bucks get a little looked over.......but then again, I could care less what anyone thinks about my deer. I set my goals depending on what is practical and what I can financially afford. I do it for my satisfaction. If anyone is growing big deer or trying to kill big deer just to impress someone........ you will be severely disappointment. There's always bigger.

I love seeing both, main reason I say I’ll only ever hunt LF is because I can’t afford HF hunts and even if I could, I couldn’t justify the cost to myself. If thats what you like and you have the money go for it.

Nice humbler brag btw. Hoss of a deer

Wild monster bucks are a lot like big ol perfect natural boobs. Even if you know where they are located, they are hard to bag. Big highfence bucks are like really nice fake boobs. If you have the cash, you can always see em. Thats said, I like em all.

However it seems that with how big they have gotten these days a free range trophy hardly gets any attention. I had a client in my man cave comment on an axis I recently shot and had European mounted. He said man that's a nice one! I told him he almost bumped his head on a 209" non typical free range wt that was bow killed and said nothing!
Was the client a "real" hunter ?
I must admit my eyes start to glaze over when I look at high fenced huge racks.
                                Pretty, but . . .
