    I wouldn't imagine in a million years he'd be trying to scam me. He said tickets were bought with cash in person so no digital trail.

        option a) I would offer to pay... expecting him to turn it down... if he takes it, hold it against him the rest of his life and make sure you mention it at every family reunion how he screwed you out of hard earned cash!

        option b) if he bought his tickets as well but didnt wash them, tell him "actually... you washed YOUR tickets, bring me mine

        Kidding... I would hope he would say to you not to worry about it. best thing to do, in my opinion, is to ask him what he expects you to do about them.
