It sounds fun. But I have seen some wary pigs lately approach and circle feeders before feeding

I would back up and head shoot an eating pig with my smallest center fire
    (.222 or .223)

There's a reason why government pest controllers use 00 Buck and Benellis. It gets the job done. When I know my shots won't be scope distance, I take my HD shotty and use the Herter's 00 2 1/4". It has 6 pellets instead of 9 but I get two extra shells in the tube and the recoil stays down so I can stay on target better.

I've killed a lot of deer with #4 buck. When they're running, those extra pellets come in handy. I'm sure it'd knock hogs down left and right, and you'd probably hit more with 4s than you would with 00 or 000.

Pour you a line of corn maybe 15ft long straight away from your set up at 30yds or so. 00buck works great. They will line up on both sides of the corn and you can shoot right down the row of heads.

The hog in my avatar was 202 pounds, taken with a 3 inch 000 to the shoulder at 15 yards. Open bore, all pellets penetrated to the opposite shoulder.

I prefer 12 ga 3" mag #4 buck--41 pellets. That makes for a great, dense pattern on a bunch of hogs with their faces buried in a pile of hand corn--

                      Got 5 with 1 shot with a 20-ga 3" mag #3 buck at about 14 yds once.

It's a devastating round for hogs.

I am glad someone else has posted this. It is the deadliest, at least in our opinion. We have shot thousands of hogs out of helicopters and this is what we use. It can also drop a goose at 100 yards(back in the day). We have used everything and this combo is incredible, at least for us. And cheaper if you shoot a lot.

Well done. Most I've done is 3 with my .44 lever action at 40yds

I agree its deadly but it really sucks if you plan to eat the hogs. Eradication though....A load of 2s will wipe out a sounder of piglets.
