I am. Had to get reading glasses last year. I turn 50 this year. Had it done in 2000.

Guys and Gals I am telling you if you are on the fence and you are a candidate for LASIK it will be the best money ever spent. It was totally life changing for me. The only adverse affect I had is my eyes became much more sensitive to light. But a quality pair of sunglasses solve that.

Same question as above. I have good near vision but far vision is bad due to astigmatism. Near is bad if I'm looking @ a bow pin or red dot sight. They look like a starburst, is the best I can explain. Is this fixable?

Unfortunately not! Typically our Cleveland patients come to our Main Street office located at 59 and Main Street. Let me know if you'd like to come see us to see if you're a candidate. ahassen@manneye.com

Yes, had lasik 1994ish, started needing cheaters about 10 yrs later around 50yrsish. Now I'm looking at lens replacements because of cataracts, sped along by prednisone.

I am 58, my eye sight is really not very bad. I don't wear glasses or contacts, I don't have trouble reading on my iPhone or newspaper or such. I know I have a slight astigmatism in each eye and I think only because of this I do have some trouble seeing at a distance. I can see but not clearly enough to pick out a dear in the thicket at 100 yards. I also have trouble clearly seeing my contact point with a bow at about 40 yards.

So here's my question. Can I have lasik to correct my astigmatism/distant vision and not negatively affect the rest of my vision? I DO NOT want to have to start wearing readers or have problems with starburst at night or things like this.

                  Chootum!
You definitely can! We treat something called blended vision for patients like yourself where one eye is a little under corrected so your brain works to see far and up close. We do this on a lot of our hunters/patients. About 95% of patients over the age of 40 do the blend so they're not stuck in readers! We can show you the vision so you'll know what it will look like though. Email me ahassen@manneye.com so we can bring you in for an evaluation and see what you think about the blend if you're a candidate!

We do something called the Visian ICL (implantable contact lenses). This is a tiny little implant we insert in front of your natural lens. Procedure takes about 10 minutes, won't feel a thing, and you can go back to work the next day!

                      Ashley,

does having eye insurance ever help or provide any type of incentive?

We can absolutely treat for astigmatism and near both. Just come in for an evaluation so we can take a looksie at what all is going on and if you're going to be a candidate. Our evaluations are totally free! That way we can see what we need to do to help you see better!

Had mine done at Berkeley Mann Eye Center in Houston way back in 1998. Best money I ever spent.

Unfortunately insurance doesn't cover LASIK as it's considered "cosmetic and elective", but our TBHers get a 15% discount! Email me if you have any questions or would like to see if you're a candidate! ahassen@manneye.com
