Thanks for the clean up so to speak...I'm certainly no angel at times and really tried to divert or hint to a certain poster to avoid where it was being taken to no avail. I understand it's not one sided but some posters draw negativity like a moth to a flame it seems. Again, it isn't the position one takes as near as the delivery.

It's Like a slow motion train wreck sometimes watching it unfold.

I'm sure it's exhausting for you guys/gals to filter through the nonsense & so much more on a lightening rod election year & this goofy serving of poop soup we've been dealt. Wish I could be a bit more like the others and not sweat it, but this election I fear is going to have ramifications that will leave welts for a long time. Anyway, Appreciate the continued patience & hopefully we can still find some good dialog at times.

If it is news or political heading I usually don't read it. I never looked at the Dallas shooting thread for instance. If I am reading a thread I usually read it till starts to go south with negative nellies as I call em then O move on.

Part of it is the online world we live in now days. There was a day when they showed twin beds in the bedrooms of married couples on TV and cursing was frowned upon if not downright forbidden in mixed company. Now days, it seems like anything is fair game and the idiocy of reality TV has pushed the boundaries of decency completely over the edge. With the explosion of online social media, people figured out that semi-anonymous outrageous postings and an in-your-face style led to popularity and in some cases, fame. Kind of a sad commentary on what we have allowed ourselves to become when you stop and think about it.

Personally, I view a post on a thread as a vote. I cast my vote and leave it at that. I rarely, if ever get into useless arguments with someone trying to convince them they are wrong and I am right. I am not saying I have never done it, but arguing back and forth is just silly.

If we do a little self-policing and consistently move the people who can't seem to get with the program on down the road, we will be OK here. The key is steady consistency. People will either get the message and get with the program or find somewhere else to stake their claim.

It seems to be naturally progressing along the typical social media lines, albeit cleaner in the area of profanity than others. That's something positive anyway.
