    A Different Place

Has anyone else noticed a difference in the Green Screen since a political forum was added? It has really changed the atmosphere, in my opinion. I know that there are a lot of hot topics going around right now, such as the police shootings, terrorist events in France, and the election, but I always felt as if this site was safe enough for my kids to get on and browse. I'm not so sure about that now with the way people are blasting others all over this place.

I'm not saying it needs to be sunshine and daisies around here; friction is always inevitable with such a large group. But I feel the wisdom of "quick to listen, slow to speak" has left town, and I'm not so sure hunting season can get here any sooner.

I've noticed... It's politics and sports that get most spun up.

We need deer season to start bad.

There's a good reason why people say to avoid politics and religion in conversation.

IMO it's because people are finally waking up a little and drawing a line in the sand. We've gone past opinions in this country. It's not an opinion that LEOs shot on duty are the same as a 15 felony thug being shot while resisting arrest.
Opinions are like two taxpayers choosing what to spend tax money on, not half the country trying to steal more taxpayer money.. Hillary is a crook, liar etc.. It's proven, not an opinion, and so on.

I agree and try to live life in the same way....I'd rather sit silent and be thought fool than open mouth and remove doubt...

It seems that in the last couple years, the arrival of deer season has done little to temper those who can't act accordingly the other 9 months of the year.

It's a unhappy place right now, not just on any forum. Radio,tv,internet, etc.

Very true. I know my attitude is different because I'm fearful for my country and my future.

As passionate as I am about politics, I have just decided to stay out of the fray for the most part this time around. Too painful, frustrating and maddening and I feel totally unable to say anything that would be remotely constructive or sway opinion. Lots of people with strongly held yet unexamined views.

I never go to the politics side but there are far less deleted threads.

It's very unhappy all around, and yes, I'm fearful for what's going to happen as well. It's exhausting, though, to come on here at times and see the recent threads, and the back and forth comments degrading one another.

Let's be men and disagree/debate on politics and broadheads. But disrespecting one another is not one of the original characteristics of this site.

If I was you I would just stay away from the threads that ignite the fire and bring you down! If it's too much just go to a different thread. There's plenty of people willing to talk about hunting and other related topics.

You are correct. Deep in the woods no Net can't come soon enough.
