You seem to know God by praying to him. Do yourself and family a favor by going to church every Sunday and Wednesday if your church has an evening service. A strong bond with Christ will be your best medicine to control your appetite for alcohol. Do not let old friends try to influence you to just take one drink, it wont work. Your best friends will support you in your quest to gain back control of your life. But, we all know God has ultimate control of you and your life.

Amazing step to start a new chapter in your life. Change playgrounds and playmates and go to 90 mtgs in 90 days and don't drink. 27 years of sobriety for me and that's still one day at a time. Feel free to contact me if you want.

I like when a man takes control for his situation and makes the changes for the better. God has the plan sir... Also good on you for posting this for it might help someone else realize they are not alone....

You got this. I quit cold turkey about 6 months ago. I'm good to go now.

My suggestions: do your 90 mtgs in 90 days and do NOT hang out with old using friends or go to your old stomping grounds (bars)

You're new to recovery and other people will not understand your current lifestyle
                                This^^
Not just people and places but things as well. I couldn't cookout for over a year. 23 years sober. Get a support group, it works
