I think I'm just going to take it to Gander to see if they can fix it or send it in.

In the picture your bolt is NOT against the string. That I think has something to do with your issues. On mine my bolt is actually against the string with the notch of the bolt seating it.
By all means please take it somewhere to be serviced. Would hate to see you hurt trying to make something work right! Good luck and please post what it turns out to be. [emoji106]

It may be a bad picture but the bolt does sit on the string. I've done as much as I can without breaking something or getting hurt (that's how these things normally end up). So I'm running it to Gander this afternoon to see what they say. I will post up the findings.

So I took this in to Gander and they were unable to get the safety off as well. They have kept it and will be contacting Barnett tomorrow.

You cocked it with the safety on. I did the same and had the same results. I had to pull the string back off the safety with the cocking rope while my oldest son took the safety off and manuals let the string down. Not a safe thing to do and A little nerve racking.

                I wouldn't do this.

He cocked it with the safety on. It will do this every time. Mine just did the very same thing two weeks ago. Always cock it with the safety in the off position. The safety will automatically go to the safe position when you cock it.

I will keep that in mind for when I get it back. You would think the manual would say something about that but it doesn't.

I have the Ten Point brand and in my manual it does say to cock only with safety off and it will automatically go to safe mode. However I'm not sure if it says why, I'll have to look and I don't have the bow here right now. I'm pretty sure this is going to be what the issue turns out to be.

Just got a call from Gander.

What the problem was, was one of the screws on the scope rail. The holes that the screws go into go all the way thru. One of the screws sits in front of the safety and was half a turn too low and was impeding the safety from disengaging. It's fully functional now after backing the screw out just a half turn.

I'm glad it was that simple but now feel like a dummy!

The safety has to be freed up. Before you cock it you have to push the trigger all the way forward or safety will lock up.

I was just about to say this Glad you got it figured out. Those things scare me when they are cocked back. Lots of energy all loaded up there!

Yea the ride to Gander yesterday was a little nerve racking with that thing ready to fire. It's about a 36 mile drive and even though it was stuck you never know what may happen on a bumpy ride.
