Hey Guys/Gals, been off the GS since the floods hit again. It got us, TWICE.
Not as bad as some so not complaining. Thankful we have our health and are safe.
So I have the exterior walls gutted 24" up and fans have been running since right after it happened. Walls looks dry now and will be treated to make sure no mold started growing. Also all carpet removed of course.
We don't have flood insurance, built on land that has never been known to have flooded, EVER......
so that plan worked well.
Anyways, on to the meaning of this thread.
How does FEMA assistance work. Once they declare this event a disaster, I have to apply for it.
But what happens after that? Time frame to get repairs / money from them?
I'm no contractor but I would guess 7-10K damage in our home.
Thanks for the input, in advance.
