    So what do you do?
    Revolver.
Wheel guns are much less complicated, much easier to load..
And that said revolver would perform about 50x better being shot while hidden from view inside a purse?
Pretty strong option for the ladies, imo.

      I don't own a revolver.
Not a big fan of them.

And women shouldn't carry in a purse imo.

if your incompetent to shoot half way accurately u should not be allowed to carry,,, your viewing it one sided,,, what if that boob was shooting at someone next to your wife or child? would it make you feel better that they were shot by someone who had the right, but was incompetent? sorry Mr I was shooting at the bad guy, it was an accident i hit your child, but i had a right to do it!
i am all for concealed carry, but yes you should have to pass a shooting test.... i feel have a better chance as a hostage than with a poor shot trying to save me... getting killed by good intentions will not make me feel any better...

          Gotcha.
Revolvers certainly aren't fashionable these days.

Sorry to hear your wife struggled at qualifying with your semi.
          I hope she wasn't embarrassed.

            She didnt care.
She shot better with it than I expected her to.
Had a couple of flyers, but otherwise did fairly well. And passed. That's the main thing.

I've had my Texas CHL for several years, but just got my Washington CPL and all you have to do is fill out the form at the local sheriff office, get fingerprinted and they run a background check. I had my license 8 days later. You never even handle a pistol, so there's obviously no proficiency test. They also don't have anything like .30-06 or .30-07 like Texas. I have never seen a sign that said a gun is prohibited anywhere. They have open carry, but I've never seen anyone open carry in Washington.
What's really strange is they do not accept a Texas CHL, even though the requirements in Texas are much more stringent.

The right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.....unless you are a crappy shot.

James Madison must have ran out of ink.

If we lived in a time when everyone who had a gun knew how to use it, I wouldn't care as much about adequate training. But we do not live in that time anymore. There are too many ignorant folks out there today. Times have changed, and laws should change to reflect that.

                    WOW!!!!!!

Well back in the day they only were talking about muzzleloaders so that should be the only gun you can own and carry around. You cant kill lots of people with those.

Well I mean, they were writing the laws of the time based on what was around.

You have to admit we live in a different planet compared to those times.

                      Just sayin

This is just me but I don't mind paying to get my license, assuming those fees go into the man power to run background, keep records etc.

I also don't mind taking a class to learn the laws and prove that I know how to safely handle my weapon and shoot it.

I have nothing to hide, that card shows when an officer might ask for my DL/CHL that I am an upstanding citizen.

We live in a wicked wicked world.

I try to just look at in a positive way. Just my .02

Should the CHL class be harder?

Nah, cover the laws and shooting / gun safety. The rest is up to that carrier. If they are not prepared, they won't last long should they need to use it anyways.

Yes it is way too easy. A woman in my class tried picking up other people's guns and shot multiple rounds into the ground from the shortest distance. She passed.

Does the 2nd give the right to conceal carry...and now open carry?

I think open carry should have been passed with a requirement of a level 3 retention holster.

The point of the second amendment was for the people to protect themselves from a tyrant government. PERIOD.

So how far would you like our government to take it? Once again there are ignorant people who drive irresponsibly, who have more kids than they can afford, who vote.
My point is it is awful hard to regulate ignorance.
