Is it a remote or clicker?

A Gentleman on another thread called it a "clicker" I haven't heard that in a long time ever sinceI lived with my folks. (Over 10 years) I have to admit it made me smile. As kids I just remember my dad howlering at us from the living room "where'd y'all put the dang clicker!" Today I call it a remote. What do y'all call it? Remote or clicker? Also if there's another name your parents called something go ahead and name that.

I do remember that my grandmother had one of the early remote control televisions back in the mid-60's, and that channel changer was definitely a clicker!
